Over the years I’ve made countless video’s in a huge variety of formats. Some short, some long, some in-between. Here though, is a collection of what I think is the best of them.
ON THE FRONTLINES : ILLEGAL FISHING IN AFRICA
Directed, filmed, & edited
Made as the centrepiece to illustrate Sea Shepherd’s work in combatting illegal fishing off the coast of Africa, I worked on this project for a couple of years. Footage captured in this film has since been used by the BBC, in Netflix’s ‘Seaspiracy’ as well as by numerous news outlets around the world.
Through this production, I was able to capture footage that had never before been filmed. Industrial fishing vessels are notoriously secretive about their operations, and Sea Shepherd’s campaigns provided the first oppertunity to get on board these ships and show how they work.
DEFEND, CONSERVE, PROTECT THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BIGHT : OPERATION JEEDARA
Directed, filmed, & edited
In 2016 we travelled with Sea Shepherd to the remote waters of the Great Australian Bight. BP was wanting to drill for oil there, and there was a lot of opposition. We made a documentary about that trip that you can see, here, which helped in the fight that ultimately made BP bail on their plans.
This video documents a return trip to the Bight, to showcase its beauty in order to assist in getting World Heritage Status for the region, to prevent it from commercial exploitation into the future.
